Blue Devil Football 2026 Schedule Release

BOONEVILLE, Miss. — A new season brings new opportunities, and excitement is already building around Booneville as the Blue Devils prepare for the start of the 2026 high school football season.

Head coach Scott Brown and the Blue Devils will officially open the season on Friday, August 28, when they welcome North Pontotoc to Tiger Stadium. Before the regular season begins, Booneville will get its first game action during the annual jamboree at East Union on Friday, August 21, giving fans an early look at this year’s squad.

Booneville enters the 2026 season looking to build on a 2025 campaign that saw the Blue Devils finish 6-6 overall and earn a trip to the MHSAA Class 3A Second Round.

One of the biggest advantages for the Blue Devils this fall will be playing in front of their home crowd. Booneville is scheduled to host six home games, welcoming North Pontotoc, Baldwyn, Biggersville, Belmont, Alcorn Central, and South Pontotoc to Tiger Stadium.

The road schedule is much lighter, with just four away contests. Those trips include a long journey to Sardis to take on North Panola before road matchups at Ripley, Kossuth, and Mantachie.

While Booneville must replace several key seniors from last year’s team, including quarterback Jack Sandlin and standout playmaker Porter Tapp, the Blue Devils return plenty of talent capable of keeping the program among the area’s top contenders. Sandlin directed the offense throughout the 2025 season, while Tapp was one of Booneville’s most versatile athletes on both sides of the football.

Leading the returning group is running back Toney Ogden, who emerged as one of Booneville’s top offensive weapons last season and is expected to carry an even larger role in 2026. The Blue Devils also welcome back wide receivers Kayson Smith and Kydon Smith, giving Booneville experience and explosiveness on the outside. At tight end, Knox Houston returns after becoming a reliable target and key blocker, providing another experienced weapon for the offense. 
Along with the veteran leadership, Booneville will be counting on several younger players who gained valuable varsity experience a year ago to step into expanded roles this fall. Developing those players quickly will be a key factor as the Blue Devils look to replace production from last season.

Fans won’t have to wait long to get their first look at the 2026 Blue Devils. The annual Meet the Blue Devils event is scheduled for Thursday, August 14, at the Booneville High School Multipurpose Complex, giving the community an opportunity to meet this year’s football team, cheerleaders, band, and other fall sports before the season gets underway.
As always, every snap of the season will be available to fans near and far. Blue Devil TV will once again provide live coverage of every Booneville football game during the 2026 season, including the East Union jamboree.
With a favorable home schedule, experienced returning playmakers, and a new group ready to make its mark, the Blue Devils will be looking to turn last season’s playoff appearance into an even deeper postseason run when the 2026 season kicks off in late August.
