Booneville Blue Devils Lose To Hamilton
Booneville lost to Hamilton 14-9 on Saturday.

Booneville got on the board in the top of the first inning after Knox Houston drew a walk, scoring one run, and Bennett Geno was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
Hamilton tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a single by Welch, a single by Nichols, and a sacrifice fly by Self.
In the top of the second, Booneville broke up the tie when Colin Flurry hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 5-3.
A hit by a pitch extended the Blue Devils lead to 6-3 in the top of the third inning.
Hamilton flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 8-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Nichols that drove in two.
Booneville jumped back into the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Flurry homered to left field, Geno doubled to center field, and Jack Sandlin singled to left field, each scoring one run.
Nichols grounded out, which helped Hamilton tie the game at nine in the bottom of the fourth.
In the fifth, Hamilton scored five runs on four hits to take the lead, 14-9. The biggest blow in the inning was a walk by Lackie that drove in one.
Bennett Geno led things off on the hill for Booneville. The hurler surrendered eight hits and eight runs (five earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking one. Lackie started on the bump for Hamilton. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and nine runs (six earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking six.
Sandlin and Geno were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Booneville while hitting back-to-back. Flurry provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Booneville with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Porter Tapp led Booneville with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up nine walks for the game.
Hamilton tallied 13 hits in the game. Nichols provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Hamilton with four runs batted in. The second baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Whitaker went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Hamilton in hits. Dobbs and Barnes each collected multiple hits for Hamilton. Nichols stole two bases. Hamilton turned one double play in the game.
