Blue Devils Come Up Short Against North Pontotoc
Booneville falls to North Pontotoc 6-5.

North Pontotoc got on the board in the first inning after an error scored one run.
TheBlue Devils captured the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the first after Jacob Matthews walked, and Bennett Geno singled to right field, each scoring one run.
Easton Stark grounded out, which helped North Pontotoc tie the game at two in the top of the second.
In the bottom of the third inning, Booneville went back into the lead after the Devils scored on a passed ball, and Jack Sandlin singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
North Pontotoc captured the lead, 6-4, in the top of the fourth after Landon Hill was struck by a pitch, Ty Collums singled to center field, Jack Cummings walked, and Cam Abbott walked, each scoring one run.
Cade Lott started on the hill for Booneville. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and two runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking none. Rylan Kenter led things off on the hill for North Pontotoc. The pitcher surrendered four hits and four runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking four.
Bennett Geno went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Colin Flurry went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Blue Devils in hits. Jacob Matthews paced Booneville with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game.
Hill and Collums were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for North Pontotoc. Abbott, Hill, Collums, Cummings, and Stark each drove in one run for the Vikings. North Pontotoc turned one double play in the game.
