Bio
Jake Scott is a 2009 graduate of Booneville High School, where he was a member of the baseball team as well as a member of the football team. Scott graduated from the University of Mississippi where he was a member of the baseball staff for 7 seasons. At Ole Miss, Scott had various roles throughout his time where he was responsible for team travel, team meals, equipment orders, coordinating camps, and assisting in recruiting. In his time at Ole Miss, they broke through to reach the College World Series for the first time in 52 years. Scott also spent 4 seasons as the Director of Player Development, Technology, and Scouting at the University of Kentucky. During his time with the Wildcats he oversaw recruiting, analytics, and development plans for players as well as overall development of the program. The program also saw an improvement in the SEC standings each year and ended with an appearance in an NCAA Super Regional in 2023, the second ever for the school. This year, the Wildcats are a consensus top 3 team and have already tied a school record for conference wins.
Most recently, Scott was the Middle School Baseball Coach and High School Assistant Baseball Coach at Booneville. He assisted with all aspects of the high school team and led the middle school program during its first year in the Northeast Mississippi Junior High Conference. During the fall, Scott was the Blue Devil golf coach and completed a successful season with both a team championship for the boys and individual championship for the girls.
Coach Scott and his wife Cora live in Booneville and enjoy spending time attending Booneville athletic events. Scott believes Booneville is a special place and looks forward to carrying on the Blue Devil Standard.
